The Gingerbread House

The Gingerbread House bakery in Bormill Commercial Centre is known for its unique and delicious pastries. However, in recent years it has offered fewer pastry options and no longer provides seating for customers. While it has a cozy atmosphere and affordable prices, it now faces more competition from other local bakeries. To address these issues, the bakery could experiment with new recipes to attract more customers and convert some of its available space into a cafe. This case study promotes student engagement by presenting a realistic small business problem and requiring critical thinking to develop potential solutions.

The Gingerbread House

Proposed by: Valerie T. Giang

Business Description: The Gingerbread House is a local bakery situated at Bormill

Commercial Centre. The bakery is known for their delicious and unique pastries. Not
only do they provide mouth-watering pastry but they also made a cosy environment in
their bakery for customers to enjoy their dessert while being served beverages.
Although it’s a small bakery but it is worth visiting for an evening tea time.

Issues: The issue surrounding this bakery through observation is that in the many
years of operating, it’s that their bakery do not offer as many pastry as they did in
previous years. Customers are not as many as before and the tables for the customers
are nowhere to be seen in the bakery anymore.
