Release Notes Altair Embed 2021
These Release Notes cover four products: Altair Embed, Altair Embed Basic, Altair Embed SE, and Altair Embed Viewer. They include
new features and enhancements, known issues, and resolved simulation and code generation issues.
General Features and Enhancements

Draw Circles, Draw Lines, Draw Rectangles Adjusts the smoothness of the line to draw the 2021
blocks (OpenVision) circle, line, or rectangle.
Import block Imports XLSX files. 2021
Kafka Consumer and Kafka Producer blocks Reads messages from and publishes 2021
messages to one or more Kafka topics.

Code Generation Features and Enhancements
These features and enhancements apply only to Altair Embed and Altair Embed Basic; they do not apply to Altair Embed SE.
Code Generation Description Version
AMD64 target support Expands support to include generated code 2021
from OpenVision and Serial UART blocks for
this target.
STMicroelectronics target support Expands target support to include STM32 2021
F103x and H7x microcontrollers.
STMicroelectronics peripheral support Expands peripheral support to CAN and Event 2021
Capture.
Texas Instruments peripheral support PWM sim block supports four additional output 2021
pins (C, C, period, and phase).
Known Issues
• If you choose Chrome as your Browser for Help, and Help opens in an empty window, close Chrome and then re-open Help.
• For Arduino and Linux Raspberry Pi targets, HIL for string outputs does not work.
• ActiveX blocks are 32-bit and do not work with 64-bit applications.
• Diagrams set up to run on Linux targets using the Target Interface block may show spikes in CPU utilization due to the
multiprocess nature of how Linux processes are scheduled.
