I noticed in some of his outputs that he cannot organize his thoughts
especially in writing essays (Let us Create) part of the module. For this
reason, I gave him activities in proper use of different cohesive devices.
I also provided real time feedbacks. After few months, He can write a
well-organized paragraph.

In this lesson, we were supposed to use “A Raisin in the Sun” as our springboard.
However, since it is a one act play and a lot of students had a hard time in
grasping the lesson, I decided to contextualize it by replacing it with a Filipino
short story that still aligned with the MELCs in the module. With this, my students
can easily relate to the lesson while developing the desired competency.

MELCs are given before each lesson starts for the students to be aware of the
alignment to the assessment at the end of the lesson. In addition, at the end of
each quarter, there is always MELCs mapping to check if all MELCs in each
grading are attained.

I organize my assessments by sending a PDF/MS WORD copy thru Facebook
messenger since it is the most convenient mean of communication to all
students. I also make google sheet/s to those students who can answer thru it. In
addition, I utilize the use of different learning platforms like Quizzez. On the other
hand, when it comes to selection and designing, I only choose the tasks that
are SMART and will develop the competency of the lesson yet, aligned to the
MELCs.

Since our school adapted blended learning modality, I use Google Meet and
Facebook Messenger as learning platforms in delivering lessons to my students
by presenting slides and taking pictures of each slide and send it to messenger
(for those students who cannot afford to attend GMeet class). I also prepare
supplementary activities as intervention to those lagging behind learners.

In the new normal setup, attending webinars help teachers to be more
equipped with the new trends in education; thus, teachers can reflect on
the teaching-learning process.

LDM2 Portfolio is new to me since I am a newly hired public school teacher. At first, I
thought that it would be challenging for me to make it since I really had no idea as to
when and where to start due to pile of paper works, I must accomplish. However, I
U
realized that I have documented all the things I did in the entire school year, and I
have also the support of superiors and thru these, I am confident that I can
accomplish it. While I was making this portfolio, a lot of things came into my mind. First,
I thought of this school year as a battle because we were transitioned to blended
learning in just a wink of an eye. Second, I could not imagine that I would be able to
survive this year knowing that I am just a neophyte public school teacher and I have
self-doubts. Lastly, I realized that being a teacher amidst these trying times is like
crossing a stream, it is difficult, you must be ready anytime as the current of water
becomes stronger. Like this school year, we might have challenged by this pandemic
but our passion and dedication to serve the Filipino children will always be our
weapons.
In this LDM2 Portfolio, I learned that there are a lot of things teachers could do to
address the needs of his students most especially in time of pandemic. Moreover, thru
LAC session, teachers can collaborate to produce an output that could benefit the
students, parents, and the school.

Annotation
As a teacher, monitoring of students’ progress is an arduous task during
pandemic. One of the ways of monitoring them is thru sending a personal
message with their output that has been checked. I also create a poll
which I would send to our group chat every end of the week to check if
how many are done with the activities. In addition, I send a real time
update of activities to advisers and so they are notified and a personal
message to parents/guardians for them to be aware of the child’s status in
my subject. With these, I can say that I can monitor the progress of my
students.

Virtual LAC sessions and ‘online kamustahan ‘are the means of
communication we used to attend to, and it became more constant this
pandemic. Thru these, every meeting becomes more meaningful because
each teacher can share his/her experience and every gray area becomes
clearer since it can be done in just a click of the mouse. Any
announcements can also easily disseminate thru group chat or google
meet session.
