A) Read the following passage and answer the questions given below :
COVID-19 has changed the way we interact with our families. It can be hard to
keep away from your elders or loved ones while the coronavirus is a threat, but it's
important. As people become aged, their immune systems weaken and they're not as
able to fight off the virus as youths. People aged 60 and older, especially those with
conditions like heart and lung diseases, are more in danger of serious illness due to
COVID-19. They're more likely to be admitted to the hospital and to die from the
disease. People who are infected with the virus don't always show symptoms. Even
if you and your kids feel fine, you could unknowingly bring it into your home. But
staying away can cause problems, too. People who are isolated are at greater risk for
depression, anxiety, heart disease, and mental decline. So it's time to get creative.
There are things you can do to keep elderly loved ones away from feeling lonely but
still keep them safe.

Corona Virus and its Effects
Since the dawn of civilization, human beings have been facing various challenges in
different forms. From super cyclone to devastating flood, from earthquake to volcanic
eruption, humans have conquered almost all the challenges by using their intelligence
and wisdom. The year 2020 has faced such a terrible challenge in form of Coronavirus
disease (COVID-19) which has threatened the whole world. It is a virus caused infectious
disease which is mainly transmitted through droplets generated by coughs, sneezes, or
exhales by an infected person. Therefore it is a communicable disease and one becomes
infected by breathing in the virus if he or she is within close proximity of someone
having COVID-19. This disease causes fever, headache, and respiratory problems such
as cough and cold, shortness of breath etc. An infected person must be isolated and
quarantined for fourteen days for necessary observation and medication. Scientists are
still working to understand Coronavirus, and there remains a lot of uncertainty about
how it behaves. The first case of this viral disease has been found in Wuhan, China
from where it has been spread throughout the whole world causing a massive number
of death cases. World Health Organisation has declared it as ‘Pandemic’. The whole
world has witnessed a phase of complete locked down which has affected the world
economy adversely. Doctors, nurses and health workers have been serving tirelessly
risking their own lives all through this period. Maintaining social distancing, using
mask and hand sanitizers have become part and parcel of life for better survival. At
present, our hope lies in the vaccines which are recently tested successful. Hence, the
whole world is waiting for the day when everyone will be able to breathe freely.
