Detailed Lesson Plan in Technology and Livelihood Education (T.L.E.)
Computer Hardware Servicing
9:30-10:30am
Grade 7 - Sampaguita
I. Objectives
Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding basic concepts and underlying theories of
computer hardware servicing
Performance Standard: The learner independently demonstrates common competencies in computer
hardware servicing as prescribed by TESDA Training Regulations as the student identified those component
and object to be measured.
Learning Competencies: Perform basic mensuration Data Storage Capacity TLE_ICTCS7/8MC-0e-1
Specific objectives:
A. Defining storage devices and their interfaces
B. Differentiate between RAM and ROM.
C. Explain the difference between external and internal storage devices and their uses
II. Content
Topic: LO 1. Perform basic mensuration Data Storage Capacity
III. Learning Resources
References: Teacher’s guide, Computer Hardware Servicing Learning Modules page CHS 37-38
Materials needed: Audio - visual materials, PPT presentation, Multimedia presentation
Valuing: Appreciate the importance of using storage capacity in saving files and data on a computer.
Pedagogy: Lecture/ discussion, Collaborative learning, Peer teaching
IV. Procedure
A. Preliminary activities
a. Checking of Attendance
The teacher will ask the class’ secretary who are the absentees for the day.
b. Classroom management
The teacher will instruct the students to arrange their chairs and to pick up the pieces of papers
or plastics on the floor.
B. Review of past lesson and presentation of new lesson
As a review, the teacher will provide a list of acronyms that will orally recited about the lesson
yesterday. They will also identify the different type of acronyms and give the meaning of it
1. RAM 3. SIMM
2. DIP 4. RIMM
C. Motivation
The students will watch a video – Basics information of Storage Devices to give them insights about
the lesson.
Storage Devices
What do I know about Storage devices, the RAM and ROM, the external and
internal storage and those functions of it.
The teacher will call students to share their responses to the video and multimedia presented to
them explaining between the RAM and ROM as primary storage or memory in computer.
D. Purpose
The teacher will present the lesson objectives so that the class will know what have to be done
or accomplished at the end of the lesson.
D. Presentation
a. Unlocking difficulties/ vocabulary words
1. RAM – stand for Random Access Memory, a temporary memory and its content deleted when the
computer switches off.
2. ROM – stands for Read Only Memory. It’s a permanent memory and the data once stored its
written forever.
3. Internal Storage – devices that are installed inside the system unit, from desktop to laptop
4. External Storage are portable storage devices that usually uses USB technology
5. USB – Universal Serial Bus, is a common interface that enables communication between devices
such as personal computer, laptop or desktop computers
b. Activity

some students will answer on it.
F. Analysis
The teacher will facilitate the discussion of the students’ activity and clear other important
information about the topic.
The students will answer the question posted on the board.
What’s the difference of RAM and ROM?
What are the two types of storage devices?
What are example of external devices? internal devices?
G. Generalization
Guide question:
1. What are the things we consider to ensure our data are being secured? Simple
answer, put it to some storage devices that being protected and secured all the time, always put in our
mind between RAM and ROM, a permanent and a temporary storage.
H. Valuing
