Night City’s Disasterpiece

(Pages 2-3: Characters, Pages 4-5: Homebrew)

Welcome to Night City’s Disasterpiece, a tragic tale of edgerunners in Night City
that will be run by the Gamemaster “god” or Tav. In this game, you will play as
edgerunners looking to make it big in Night City, taking jobs, kicking ass, living by
your ideals, and trying to survive. Outlined will be a few important things about the
type of game that will be run.

Where?: Discord and Foundry VTT

Tone: Semi-serious. Why? Because I want to set the tone of Night City and the
Dark Future, I want people to have laughs and good times, but I want the Dark
Future tone to shine through.
Length: 4-8 Sessions an Arc (at 3-6 hours a session), will consist of as many arcs
as we need (most likely 4-5 Arcs depending on how long, or until the players get
tired).
Players: 4 Players Max. I like to have everyone when we play but as long as I get a
majority we will just play (or unless you specify you want us to wait, I don’t like
controlling characters so you’ll just be off somewhere else)
Price: You’re probably thinking: “Jesus? A paid game, fuck no.” Well here’s what I
have to say. PAY WHAT YOU WANT. I paid for Foundry and am investing a lot of my
time into running this game at best quality I can do. If you want to support that
you can, but don’t feel like you need to pitch anything in to play, because you
DON’T HAVE TO IF YOU DON’T WANT TO I WILL NOT BE HURT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE,
OR FORM, my main focus is the fun for everyone, myself included. But a little skrilla
for some work doesn’t hurt.

Character Creation
------------------

1. Complete Character Package

a. 62 Points for Stats (REF, DEX, INT, etc)
i. 86 skill points,
1. No skill higher than 6
2. Spec Ability at 4
b. 2,550 eb to use for gear, weapons, and cyberware
c. No gun 500 eb+ can be bought (you can take poor quality versions of
weapons which cost 100 eb)
d. When it comes to armor, you are not allowed to buy armor, you will
start with internal armor (no humanity loss)
i. Head: 7 SP
ii. Body: 10 SP (arms and legs)
1. We can talk about armor upgrades later, because we all
know you want Light Armorjack
2. I also want Medium Pistols to be viable, not everyone is
gonna have a rifle
2. Roles/Role Lifepath
a. Pick any of the Roles available, but try to play something you would
not normally play
i. Ex: “I normally play a Rockerboy, let’s try a Solo” or “I have
three medtechie characters, let’s try an Exec”
1. All and all, play who you want to play, don’t worry about
“party cohesion” because a good GM (I like to think I am)
can make it work
b. For Role Lifepath, we’ll be doing that together
3. Lifepath
a. I recommend picking your background, however, if you want to just let
it roll, let it roll.
b. I do want some backstory, not a book, but a couple paragraphs to a
few pages is good if you want to flesh out a character. Go for as
many pages as you like but my limit is 10 pages, please try not to write
more than that.
4. Homebrew
3

a. We’ll do my CC homebrew together (because I have a few things that

are better explained out loud)
5. Style
a. Style matters. I don’t want a “he wears a black t-shirt with jeans.” We
have decades of Cyberpunk art, literature, movies, anything. Be
creative with it. If you want to walk around with a kevlar vest half
naked do it. If you want to be dripped out with all the high fashion do
it (or work towards it). If you want comfortable leisurewear give it
some style or flavor.
b. Some people based on your style may just not talk to you, that’s
okay, people take clothing seriously.
6. Combat Skills Rant
a. Any class can be combat viable.
b. You don’t need to be good at every single combat skill in the book.
Combat does not solve every situation, sometimes talking it out, or
through investigating and brain smarts, if you do in all Gung-Ho
you’re most likely going to die
i. That doesn’t mean don’t invest in combat, just don’t make that
your only thing
ii. There will still be cool, cinematic combat moments, please invest
in some combat skill, but you don’t need a 6 in Autofire, a 6 in
Shoulder Arms, a 6 in Handgun. . . you get the idea.
1. Unless you’re like a Solo, then it’s a little more
acceptable, but don’t be a dumb rock (unless that’s what
you want)
7. Skills Rant
a. It’s okay to not be good at everything
b. You will not beat every encounter
c. There will be some encounters where the odds will be stacked against
you, once more, that’s okay (it might be confused with Railroading but
I assure you it’s not, there’s always a way it’s just not obvious)
8. Creativity
a. Be outside the box, be creative. If you wanna be the Netrunner who
has a black belt in Karate or you want a smart, casual Solo, or a
Katana-wielding Exec, maybe a Media who’s good at being silent do it.
b. The more creative the better the story we all get

Homebrew
----------------------------------------------------
(Unless specified, NPCs and Mooks can do the exact same thing)
● Adding towards melee, the damage bonus from 2020 will be implemented (for both PCs
and NPCs).
○ Body
■ 1-2: -2
■ 3-4: -1
■ 5-6: 0
■ 7-8: +1
■ 9-10: +2
■ 11-12: +4
■ 13-14: +6
■ 15: +8
● Trauma Team will be per month, however, when used, 200 eb will be taken every time
(fuel, ammo, medical costs) you use them, 400 eb for false alarms.
● Three round burst will be a thing. It will come in the form of a mod and will spend three
bullets, using the base DVs for each weapon (except for obvious weapons like a shotgun,
obviously there’s no 3-round burst, but maybe an auto one. . .), however, you must roll a
d6/2 or d3 to see how many shots hit, and it takes a -1 to hit. If you roll a 10 all three
shots connect. Must have either interface plugs or a subdermal grip to use properly. If
not it will be a -2.
● Intimidation Checks are Facedowns. D10+COOL+Reputation (just to make things
consistent)
● It doesn’t specify in the book, but Brawling is a ROF of 2. You must specify whether you
deal damage in the #d6 or your BODY.
● When grappling, you won’t take a -2 if you’re the person doing the grappling.
○ Enemies can still attempt to fire at you with their gun as long as it can be held in
one hand, it takes an action to disarm while holding in a grapple.
● Point blank is a DV10 for all weapons, however, no matter what REF, an enemy can
attempt to dodge it at a +2. You must spend a MOVE action to get up there. If the shot
connects, the gun does full damage (Ex: 3d6 = 18 damage).
● If a headshot does 30 damage (in total after the x2) you die, plan and simple, your blood
paints the walls, doesn’t matter your health.
● You must eat food once a day and drink water once a day. If not, you will suffer a -2 until
the next day (if you miss a day you suffer that -2 for the whole day)
● Every 50 shots/swings, a blade/gun must be cleaned or face a -1 to hit until it is cleaned.
You will be able to purchase cleaning kits (not at Character Creation though, cause that
would be too easy).
● All Autofire DVs will be reduced by 1 (because I want it to be used by everyone).
5

● For each piece of High Fashion 5k+ clothing gets a +1 to Wardrobe and Style
● Grabbing stuff from a table does not count as an action, however, any other form of
grabbing does
● Reputation will work in separate districts. You could have a 10 in Watson but a 1 in Old
Japantown. Once you achieve 10 in all districts (which is entirely possible) you will be
known worldwide.
● Melee weapons will have three slots just like guns.
● If you have a body of 13+ and a Melee 8+, you can use a Heavy Melee Weapon with a
ROF: 2, however, if you want to take the second swing it will be at a -3.
● You will need to sleep at least 6-8 hours a day. If you’ve been up for 15+ hours, you’ll
need to roll an Endurance check at a DV15 to stay up. If you fail every single action you
take is at a -2. Every hour you’ll have to roll it once more and if you fail the -2’s will
stack until you fall asleep.
● Adding some things you can be for the Roll Lifepaths
○ Media Type: Combat Media (goes deep into Combat Zones, a real adrenaline
junkie)
○ Exec Type: Counter-Intelligence (cause it just makes sense ya know)
○ Lawman: Vice (Undercover cops who deal with drug smuggling)
● Exec’s will have RESOURCES from 2020 which allow you to pull resources from your
corporation. It will be in line with TEAMWORK where you will roll a
d10+TEAMWORK to see what you can pull depending on your request.

Some more homebrew that has to do with Character Creation that will be discussed once
players are picked.
