ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study was to determine the effects of the different after school
activities of the Grade 11 Senior High School students of Capiz National High School on their
academic performance. The research design used in this study was the survey technique of
descriptive research strategy. This study was conducted at Capiz National High School, and
covered two-hundred sixty-seven (267) Grade 11 Senior High School Students as respondents.
The data needed for the study were gathered with the use of the researchers’ made
questionnaires. The questionnaire for the respondents was made up of two parts. Part I is the
demographic profile of the respondents, and the part II is the level of the effect of the sleeping
habits on their academic performance. The part II is composed 20 statements. The research
instrument was then subjected to the content validity and reliability testing.
Statistics revealed that different after school activities of that Grade 11 student has a
“Disturbing” effect on their academic performance as perceived by the respondents. This clearly
shows that there is a significant relationship between the afterschool activities of students and
their academic performance in school. After school activities had a “Disturbing” effect as
perceived by the respondents. And since, there is a significant relationship between the
afterschool activities of students and their academic performance in school as perceived by the
respondents as a whole, therefore, the null hypothesis was ignored.
