BRIEF REPORT OF BUILD-O-QUIZ EVENT
The objective of this event is to test and enhance Basic Civil Engineering
knowledge among the students.
The Civil Engineering Association (CEA) and the department of Civil
Engineering, SVCE successfully conducted an online inter-college quiz
competition, BUILD-O-QUIZ 2k21 on 21st May 2021 for the
B.E/DIPLOMA Civil Engineering students. [Link] S, ( Senior
Executive Member, CEA ) Of III year and [Link] G, ( Junior
Executive Member, CEA ) of II year were the coordinators for this event.
[Link] S of III year of Civil Engg. was the host for this event.
Students from various colleges had participated. The event began at 11:00
am by welcoming the participants and the rules and regulations were
explained. Participants attempted the quiz in a team of two members.
Two rounds were conducted. The first round of the competition comprised
of 30 questions plus 2 bonus questions (5 points), where the students have
to attempt the questions presented on the screen which are related to Civil
Engineering and general aptitude. Questions were first displayed without
options for 30 seconds and then the options are shown in the next 30
seconds. Two points are given to the team who answered right without
seeking options and 1 point is given if answered after showing the options.
Among the entire participants 3 teams qualified for the final round.
The second round, i.e the final round was held after a small break. This
round comprised of 20 questions and having the same set of rules and
regulations as of the first round. Only the time constraint is altered, i.e
25secs without options & 25secs with options. After competing in all the
rounds, the following Students occupied the positions:

The students enthusiastically participated and showcased their brilliance
by rapidly answering the questions. Though some of the questions were
very tricky, the students tried to answer them with confidence. They found
this competition very informative and knowledge enriching.
