Writing: What are the advantages and disadvantages of more tourism?

Tourism has started playing a vital role in the development of economies in


globalization. Nowadays, they make significant contributions to the economy of a
nation; however, it also has some drawbacks too.
The two main advantages of more tourism are the increase of the national economy
and the generation of employment for local people. Firstly, tourists tend to spend
money in order to use a wide range of services which is including transportation,
food, and tourist guides, leading to the income that contributes to the nation's
economy. For example, tourism increases the consumptions of domestic product
which have a significant impact in the GDP growth of the country. Secondly, tourism
creates a plenty number of job opportunities in restaurants, hotels, and transport
services that cannot operate especially during the Covid19 epidemic. Therefore,
tourism brings a load of benefits.
However, there are various disadvantages to tourism such as the expansion of
transportation that leads to damage to the environment or the increasing in criminal
and illegal activities. Firstly, the more tourisms, the more transportations, especially
airplanes. This also means that there are numerous carbons footprint and other
gases are released into the atmosphere, leading to having a large impact on the
climate system. What is more? As tourists carry valuable items such as cash,
jewelry, and other expensive items, they may become the targets of thieves. Hence
the increase in criminal and other anti-social elements in the popular tourist spots.
To conclude, in spite of the fact that tourism has disadvantages such as
environmental pollution and an increase in crime, it has a significant effect on a
nation's economy and gives job opportunities for locals. I believe that the advantages
of tourism outweigh its disadvantages.
