What is Work Immersion?
The word immersion as it used to the K-12 curriculum which means in
the department of education order no.40 series of 2015.
Work immersion refers to the senior high school students make up of
80 hours of hands-on experience of work simulation, which is the senior high
school will bear to expose us to actual work place setting and to make rich the
ability provided by the school administrators and designated. By completing
80 hours of work immersion, going to the workplace or shop with 8 hours of
services per day for actual and hands-on experience.
The group of people working together for the same purposes. Immersion
is done outside the school campus in a workplace site. Such as factories
shops ect. Work immersion gives the power to us, as a learner’s student to
become well known with the work place simulation work and used our ability
in genuine work environment. Work immersion curriculum guide, it was stated
that through work immersion, as a senior high school student are exposed to
become familiar with work related environment field of specialization to
improve our abilities. This is for the purpose that we relate directly to their
post– secondary aims.
HOW TO CONDUCT ONESELF INSIDE THE COMPANY
Immersion is something new for me because this is the first time that I will be
doing on actual work my eagerness to learn and performed in actual work
situation drives me to do better in
the work place. As I entered the
workplace the idea of 5s is always
in
my mind. I need to introduce myself by presenting by bosconian initiative and
being particular with cleanliness towards work.
Basically, safety is the first priority of all companies and shops. The
employee makes it sure the safety of thier workers. The I realized what is the
important of safety. To avoid any workers from accident and harmful things,
perhaps can ruin their life. During the immersion time, I challenge myself to
gather more skills and kny about the work and life style inside the shop.
The career that I will be taking in the future will worthy depend on the
performance on my immersion time. Positivity and optimism are also the key
points that I need to apply in my future career.
Punctuality must be your top priority, always make sure that you will arrive
on time because it demonstrates your commitment to your job. Remember,
school is different from work, no more excuses/ consideration. In short, do not
be late.
The important while you are in the company is confidently present your
presence and don't be shy. You also need to be honest to yourself and to your
employer. Because honesty will always be the best policy. It is also one of the
keys to success so always be honest even if other are not.
MY PERSONAL GOAL IN WORK
IMMERSION
My personal goal is to learn more skills
about my course which is the IFT/Agriculture.
My goal in my course is that, I want to gain
more knowledge about poultry, swine, ruminants and also about farming.
In my attitude my goal is to improve my punctuality inside the shop and
became confident in performing task and lastly being a hard-working person
inside the company or shops.
As a Bosconian my goal is to bring
the name of Don Bosco to other place,
so that they will know the real essence
of being a bosconian. In Don Bosco,
they taught us a different skill in doing
the different task like plotting, apply
fertilizer, desinfect the entire area of
ruminants, poultry, swine and etc. The knowledge that I already know in Don
Bosco is to apply in to the work place the safety rules inside the company. In
the company I want to learn more how they implement the safety measures in
their work environment. And being a bosconian I must learn to become
flexible in doing all task that will be given to me inside the company.
As a Grade 12 student, in the service of Don Bosco Training Center-Mati,
work immersion program in the senior high school. The DEP ED propose to
implement work immersion program for the Grade 12 students as one of the
requirements before graduating have the work immersion. I want to gain more
knowledge in other shop like how they apply 5s in thier shop. When dealing
with skills I already learned in performing different task. As a Grade 12
student I feel nervous in performing competency. These attitudes I want to
improve during my work immersion time.
Company Profile
Kind of Business
Don Bosco Training Center Mati is
an institution accredited by TESDA that
offers Technical and Vocational Education
and Training Programs (TVET) under the
Technical Education and Skills
Development Authority (TESDA) and the
Commission on Higher Education
(CHED). They also offer senior high curriculum for upcoming grade 11 and 12
with Technical Vocational course to choose.
The training center was operationalized in 1995 offering training
courses in mechanical and automotive technologies. The center is effective in
its program because it is able to qualify the graduates to address the skills
requirements of the small industries in Mati and the big ones in Davao.
However, the distance of Mati from Davao is a critical factor in the job
placement of the trainees. With this, Don Bosco addressed then situation by
providing training programs that are not only relevant to local needs but can
likewise generate gainful local employment. Hence, in 2003, the center
opened the Agri-Mechanical and Integrated Farming Technology.

WRITTEN REPORT ON ACTIVITIES PERFORMED
In my whole duration of work immersion program, we have a lot of
experience with my companions because it is my first time to encounter of this
kind of things that make us more motivated or to pursue my dreams especially
on our course in Integrated Farming Technology (IFT). As what department of
education (DepEd) under K-12 program they mandate all grade 12 students in
tech voc strand or technical vocational strand and go to any shops in order to
observe and learn something about our related to our course. During our work
immersion program, it is not easy observing their work while learning and also
taking down note of what we see or observed. But before that I have
expectation, I want to know what could be my work soon if I will be on the
company or shop. As an agriculture student, I experienced on how to clean
cages, feed swine and chicken, clean waterer of chicken, perform 5's,
disinfect entire poultry, cow, and goatery house, and it is not easy to do cow
grazing and I've troubled when I collect manure. And in field I challenged to
myself to make plot and apply fertilizer, and planting and watering plant it is
the easiest activity for me. Being a Bosconian, it is very important for me to
undergo work immersion to improve my skills and attitude of working inside
the company as well. It gives me motivation to face the challenges in an
actual world. I am confident in dealing things about the work because I
gradually getting the right skills and attitude needed by constantly doing my
responsibilities and working with other people in the shop/workplace. The
benefits of immersion are gaining more knowledge and have more experience
in working that is related to my qualification.
