&headline=Innovation in detail Cylinder head / valve operation&
&hdl_man_1=Version&
&txt_man_1_1=The D20 common rail has a one-piece cylinder head with the camshaft
situated on the top. This design has the advantage of precise control, high
rigidity and the small number of moving parts. The camshaft drive is driven by an
easy-to-service, wear-free and quiet spur-gear drive situated at the flywheel end
of the engine. The 4-valve technology with the roller rocker arms and valve
connection for activation permits an optimal gas throughput and volumetric
efficiency. The low degree of friction of the roller rocker arms has the positive
effect of reducing fuel consumption.&
&txt_man_1_2=The particularly efficient reinforced EVB engine brake is integrated
in the rocker arm as in the D28 engine. The rigid design of the cylinder head
permits operation of the engine under high combustion pressures. A more simply
designed cylinder head gasket without liquid passages or coolant or engine oil
makes the engine less susceptible to any leakage.&
