1- What did I do? What skills did I learn in practice?
During the first semester of design technology in year ten, I learned an array of skills
that were all vital towards my learning and my understanding of how to write a
design report. I learned skills such as thinking and communication skill which were
vital to our group work. Teamwork skills were used among numerous other skills to
help provide adequate success among the tasks.
2- What was important about what I did? did I meet my goals?
The main component that was important during the task was to solve the problem
that was arising. My goal was the to contribute to the solution by creating a website.
To an extent I did meet the goals that I set towards myself by formulating and
composing the website to help inform others about their contribution the suffering
of sea life. I find comfort in the fact that people will be aware of the damage caused
to the sea life and that they can help with the common goal that everyone should
acquire to help with the Ocean Conservation and the life of the marine animals.
3- How well did I do? What worked?
I believe I composed my website adequately; the website was indeed to an extent
successful. The website was successful due to that the website did bring in people
attention, I was able to the website statics to prove this. I do believe the videos and
overall aesthetic was successful. The images were bright and bold which drew in
many clients and age demographics. I also believe I worked well in the components
regarding the static page by providing an experiment in the form of a survey that
showed how peoples daily life rituals and how they are impacting the lives of the
animals.
4- How could I improve my work?
To improve my work, I could have improved the task by writing better and more
informative reports. I also could improve by adding navigation on the website, by
adding the navigation component it would provide organisation. I also could have
improved in the component by adding a search bar, this will provide navigation and
create organisation among the products.
5- What did I learn from this task?
During the task I learned an array of skills by doing the report and composing the
website. During the task I acquired time management skills, I gained these skills by
setting up reminders and dedicated time towards my task. I also gained thinking
skills and communication skills. I gained this skill during the group work while
working on the reports and products. I also learned these skills by communicating
with my partner to see what components they liked during the product and what
they did not particularly like. I also learned how to write a report for design
technology and how to formulate a successful product.
