BFP

Weekly Report

In our discussion lead by SFO1 Noel Gatbonton we’ve learned a lot of things and
additional knowledge in the field of the BFP. Especially when it comes in Rank
Classification. BFP is very different in PNP not only in the gun that every law
enforcement has but in the responsibility to avoid and prevent the fire and to be a
rescuer when there’s a calamity they serve to protect and save life’s of individual.
In the part of BFP we knew it that they also have investigation if the cause of fire
is accidental or arson they need to make investigation to find out. BFP Officer is
not an easy job you must stay alert because there is no exact time when the fire
incident will happen, especially on the evening there is more case of fire incident
on the middle of the night. Stay alert and always responsive is the key to do your
job well as a fire fighter because many of life depends on you. In just one mistake
many of life can be lost. Someone said it’s better to lost one fire fighter than to
lose many of individuals. Our BFP and PNP officers is the real hero of our
community they will serve the people on the best that they can do even if their life
is in danger as long as they fulfill their duty.

The BFP Officers teach us how to manage a fire incident especially by using the
fire extinguisher is the first step to stop the starting fire. We also know that not all
fire extinguisher is applicable in all fire incident. Fire extinguisher can use
depends in the cause of fire or what kind of chemical is burning, using wrong fire
extinguisher can triggered the fire and not all fire can stop by using water,
especially when the burning materials is all chemical. As a firefighter you must
know the proper way to stop and prevent the fire. We also know if you trap in the
building cause by the fire and zero visibility don’t be panic it will not help you just
stay on the ground below the knee to avoid suffocation cause by the smokes and
move around while you are on the ground find the exit or safe place that the
rescue can catch you. On this way you can survive the fire incident. We enjoy
listening to the discussion because we’ve learned a lot not only just for our
school requirements or in our profession someday but in a daily living, fire
incident can happen anytime and you need to be ready always.
