The operator checks the conformity of cubicle layout and the accessories based on the
concerned integration drawing, the equipment version, reads the serial numbers, and
performs visual control of the equipment.

Remark:
This test consists to verify that the output power of the FSK pilot is correct.
By default, the power of the FSK pilot should be 22 dB below the total output power
if set as per specifications.
For example, for an RF output power of 40W, corresponding to +46dBm, the power
of the FSK, measured with a selective voltmeter (centered at the FSK, bandwidth
around 100 Hz) should be:
46 dBm – 22 dB = 24 dBm
For this test, the HF output of the Master PLC is disconnected from the line and
connected instead to a selective voltmeter through an attenuator (20dB
recommended) providing the same impedance than the line. This way, only the
power of the FSK is transmitted to the FSK output.
Tolerance = +/- 2 dB

24dBm is related to an output power of 40W; if the output power is different, the criteria
should be changed proportionally.

The Ethernet service allows remote monitoring of the Far-End PLC as well
as LAN connectivity based on IP (Internet Protocol).
To proceed:
Verify that the LAN2LAN option is available and activated.
Verify that the E-terragridcom T390 at two ends of the PLC link are
no connected to the same hub/switch/router (if any)
Verify that the T390 at both ends of the PLC link are set-up in
different sub-networks, but that the subracks of a given PLC are all in
the same sub-network,
Verify that the PC is connected to the PLC A by means of an
Ethernet cable and launch the HMI,
Through the HMI, connect to the Far-End PLC (station B),
Verify that events can be retrieved,
Verify that measurements can be retrieved.

The objective of this test is to verify SNMP functionality of the PLC e-terragridcom
T390. This functionality is reserved only for the PLC digital mode with active LAN to
LAN service.
To test:
IP/ID of the sender
alarms registering
To proceed:
Activate SNMP options in HMI of e-terragridcom T390 and configure trap
options (server address, IP, mask etc)
Using external SNMP application, verify if the alarms and the others
information from PLC are available in the SNMP server database.

This test consists to verify that user services are reduced as configured
when the line performance decreases.
To proceed:
Verify that under current conditions the SNR is above the Fallback
threshold: the Fallback LED in front of the Processing Unit should be
OFF,
Insert noise within the frequencies used by the link,
Verify that the system has switched to Fallback Mode:
o the Fallback LED in front of the Processing Unit should be ON,
o the Fallback alarm shall be active.
o The QAM has been changed to its Fallback setting
For the enabled channels set to be available in Fallback mode (see
previous subsection), perform the corresponding test described in
subsection 5.4 … 5.7 in order to verify that the channels remain
available,
On each side, set back the thresholds to their initial value and
remove the noise source,
Verify that the system returns to Normal Mode (Fallback LED OFF).

Remark:
The test consists to verify the LF to LF coherence of the link (i.e. one signal at the
telegraph input should be reproduced with the same level at the remote telegraph
output).
The services to be checked are in accordance with the data specification defined in
the System Test report document.
To proceed:
One -3.5 dBm reference signal is injected at the selected input by means of
L.F generator; the level reference at the remote is checked by means of L.F
selective voltmeter for Speech (4W)
One -10 dBm reference signal is injected at the selected input by means of
L.F generator; the level reference at the remote is checked by means of L.F
selective voltmeter for Telegraph.
The signal frequency is:
o Speech (4W) 800 Hz
o Telegraph 2800 Hz

Test procedure :
Create a physical loop at the remote equipment between E&M.
Check that the voltage between the E pin and the – 48VDC terminal block.
If the test succeeded on multitester will read 48VDC voltage.
The test is perfomed on both sides
Tolerance = N.A
To proceed:
The channel operation is tested using an external data tester and performing
asynchronous data transmission,
The format configuration is 1 BIT START, 8 BIT WORD, 1 BIT STOP,
The duration of the test is 5 minutes. The test is repeated a second time if the
BER acceptance criteria specified in the report sheet is not met.
The test is repeated on all programmed interfaces (Processing Unit).
Remark:
This test aims to verify the LF to LF coherence of the link. A reference signal at the
analog input should be reproduced with the same level at the remote output. LF to
LF coherence is checked at two different frequencies in the LF analog band (please
refer to the report).
The properties of the test signal to be used are in accordance with the data
specification defined in the System Test report document.
To proceed:
A reference signal is injected at the selected input by means of L.F
generator,
The level coherence at the remote end is measured by means of L.F
selective level meter,
The test is performed for both sides.

Remark:
This test consists to verify that user services are blocked when a teleprotection
command is sent.
To proceed:
The PLC is set with service suppression ON by means of the E-terragridcom
T390 HMI,
A Blocking command is presented to the PLC by activating the appropriate
command wire (or by using the teleprotection),
All signals should disappear while the teleprotection command is active.

The test consists to simulate different conditions that can trigger alarms and to
verify the corresponding output information.
To proceed:
Verify that the Alarm Relay 1 is open and that the Alarm1 LED in front of the
Processing Unit is OFF,
Configure the alarms so that going into maintenance mode will trigger the
Alarm1 and the event log (item “TDM Maintenance” in the tab User Alarm)(*),
Switch to maintenance mode so that the PLC is out of synchronization,
By means of a multimeter, verify that the Alarm Relay 1 is now closed, as a
result of the PLC being in maintenance mode, and that the Alarm1 LED in
front of the Processing Unit is ON,
Repeat the same operation for Alarm Relay 2 and Alarm2.

Alternatively, the alarm can be activated for example by the generation of RF Tones using
the HMI.
