What’s New

Money is very important in our daily life. People work to earn

money so they can buy their basic needs like food.
As young as you are
today, money has been a part
of your daily activities. You use
bills or coins when you buy
something like food. When your
parents give you bills or coins for
your baon in school, can you
recognize the value of this
money?
It is important to recognize
the value of the money in bills
and coins given to you so that you will know how to count them
and get the total amount of the money you are holding. In this
way, it would be easy to identify what bills or coins you will use in
buying and the amount of the change that you need to get
back.
For example, if you received the following Philippine coins
and bills: 100-peso bills, one 50-peso bill, five 20-peso bills and three
10-peso coins
Can you picture out in your mind how these coins and bills
look like?
As you go along with this module, you will learn how to
recognize the Philippine bills and coins.
