PROJECT EXPERIENCE:

Project Name: Comparison of Buckling Strength between Metallic & Composite Panels

➢ The Aim of the project was to design and fabricate the Carbon fibre reinforced polymer and Aluminum
Mesh sandwiched composite panel and compare the buckling strength of the panel with Aluminium T-
2024 aviation grade Panel.

➢ The composite panel of CFRP-Al was fabricated and using Hand Layup technique and shaped it to the
final required dimensions using angle grinder.

➢ The graph of Load Vs Deformation of the panel was drawn with the results obtained from the Universal
Testing Machine

➢ The CFRP-Al sandwiched panel found to be reduced in weight, Increase in buckling strength, and
Ultimate load strength in comparison to the Aluminium T-2024 panel
