3.1 Remote Desktop Connection
Remote Desktop Connection is to remotely connect to another computer. When a computer
opens the remote desktop connection function, we can control this computer at the other end
of the network. Through the remote desktop function, we can operate this computer in real
time, install software on it, run programs, and everything It's like operating directly on the
computer.
3.2 Tool Used
Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection
The trusted old version of Microsoft also provides remote desktop functionality. The
"Remote Desktop" feature in Windows 7 allows to control computer remotely via a secure
network connection. While this feature is provided with all Windows 7 versions, it can only
be connected to computers running Enterprise, Ultimate or Professional editions.
3.3 Step to build Remote Desktop Connection
To build remote desktop connection is using two machines to complete it. Using Remote
Desktop Connection usually requires some basic settings and information regarding the
server to manage the Windows server. First, the Remote Desktop Service must operate on the
server to which you want to connect. Second, you must be aware of the server IP address.
Third, you must have a username and password that allows remote connection to the server.
Finally, you need to configure the Windows firewall to allow remote connections at your
location.
Step 1: First click on home button search for Control Panel and click it.
Step 2: After click to Control Panel > System and Security > Sytem , click on Remote
setting.
Step 3: Then select allow remote connection to this computer and click OK.
Step 4: Next, click on home button search for Command Prompt and click it
Step 5: Then type ipconfig, will prompt out IP Address: 172.17.198.193 for this computer.
Step 6: Repeat step 5 at another dekstop, will showing IP Address: 192.168.43.243.
Step 7: Next, go back to the desktop, type ping 192.168.43.243. This command is to check
the computer is usually connected or not.
Step 8: Next, click on home button search for Remote Desktop Connection and click it.
Step 9: Type the IP Address 192.168.43.243 and click connect.
Step 10: After connected, click more choices > use a different account.
Step 11: Enter username and password of the other computer (not this computer), and click
OK.
Step 12: After successfully login to the user, will pop up connecting to the IP Address
192.168.43.243.
Step 13: Now you have successfully control to another computer.
3.3 Difficulty faced while building the network
The most common problem that has been face while building this remote desktop connection
is about connection problem such as sudden disconnection, slow connection issues, no
available connection etc. Therefore, in order to reduce the occurrence of similar situations,
before starting to build remote desktop connection you need to verify the network
connectivity.
The error “Remote Desktop can’t connect to the remote computer for one of these reason”
may happen due for some reason, involve wrong login credentials, connectivity problem or
the use of HTTP/UDP protocol. The error message indicates three of the following reasons:
1. Remote access to the server is not enabled
2. The remote computer is turned off
3. The remote computer is not available on the network
