Descriptive writing

Opening statement
Descriptive writing is one of the fundamental style of writing. Author uses details to paint a picture with
their words. Descriptive writing requires acute attention to details, as well as creativity and intense use
of imagination. It allows the readers to enter the world of imagination.

Good descriptive writing is comprised of four elements

Sensory description: vivid sensory details paint the picture by appealing the reader’s senses.

Figurative language:

Dominant impression:

Careful organization: there must be a logical narrative order to the event.
