The REH considers various parameters for determining the heat transfer coefficient, including the coefficient of loss reduction for unheated spaces, which is crucial for calculating energy requirements. The regulatory verification process involves assessing energy performance based on national and regional methodologies, influenced by specific parameters such as thermal quality and ventilation conditions. Additionally, the document outlines the importance of renewable energy sources and energy certification systems in achieving optimal building performance.

Please explain, what are the parameters that REH considers for the determination of the heat transfer
coefficient in the case of horizontal glazing spans or that belong to the inner envelope in relation to a
current glazing window belonging to the outer envelope.

Um dos parâmetros do REH - Regulamento do Desempenho Energético dos Edificios (DL 28/16 de
23 de junho) e o coeficiente de redução de perdas para espaços não aquecidos.
a. Diga o que entende e para o que serve este coeficiente
b. Apresente, justificando, de que forma e de que este e obtido e deve ser contabilizado nos
cálculos do REH. Se necessário apresente esquemas complementares elucidativos.

One of the parameters of the REH - Building Energy Performance Regulation (DL 28/16 of June 23)
and the coefficient of loss reduction for unheated spaces.
a. Say what you understand and for what this coefficient serves
b. Give, justify, in what form and that this is obtained and should be accounted for in the REH
calculations. If necessary, present supplementary explanatory schemes.

Loss Reduction Coefficient – btr

NON-USEFUL SPACE
What does not fit the definition of USEFUL INTERIOR SPACE (according to the REH):
 space with reference conditions of the REH
 compartment which is assumed to be heated or cooled to maintain the internal
reference temperature of thermal comfort for the purpose of calculating energy
requirements

(the working area may further include spaces which are not usually air-conditioned,
such as interior stores, pantries, vestibules or sanitary facilities)

Simplified methodology based on EN ISO 13789

 It does not depend on the type of space
 It is a function of the degree of ventilation of the space

Btr (Venu, ventilation enu, Ai/Au )

Venu – Volume ofENU [m3]
Ai – Area of elements separating the interior of the ENU [m2]
Au – Area of elements separating the exterior of the ENU [m2]

ENU ventilation conditions

f - space that has all the connections between elements well sealed, without openings
of ventilation permanently open
F - space permeable to the air due to the presence of connections and
permanently open

In case of heavily ventilated spaces - btr = 1

Case of adjacent buildings - btr = 0,6

Adjoining building - building that confines with the study building and does not share
common spaces with it, such as circulation or garage areas
referencia.

Within the scope of the REH - Building Energy Performance Regulation (DL 118 // 13 of August 20),
explain what is the regulatory verification process, referring in particular to the parameters that have
the greatest influence on the final results and the conditions of reference.

Common Framework of Calculation Methodology
The energy performance of buildings shall be calculated on the basis of a differentiated
methodology at national and regional level and shall take into account existing
European standards.
Building with almost zero energy needs - NZEB
A building with a very high energy performance; almost zero or very small energy needs
should be covered to a large extent by energy from renewable sources.
Optimum Performance Levels of the Minimum Requirements
Energy performance that leads to the lowest cost during the estimated economic life
cycle.
