The program is transitioning from serving 12 kids to 40 kids next week and neither the staff nor the new location are prepared, causing stress for the workers who spent the week shopping, preparing, and moving supplies while also meeting with the new school's principal to discuss COVID policies and space issues.

This week has been one of my more stressful weeks so far.

Next week our

program will be going from 12 kids to 40. Neither me nor my coworker have worked with

these kids before and we aren’t sure how everything will work out. We spent the first

part of this week shopping for all the supplies we need for next week. I spent one of the

days preparing all the supplies for each day and creating lesson plans for the tutors to

lead their respective groups. The last few days consisted of moving all of our supplies

out of our current classroom and to the school where we will be having program from

now on. We had so much stuff so it took a while for us to get everything in order. On

friday we spent the day meeting with the principal of the school. He informed us about

all of their COVID policies and answered the several questions we had about how they

have run things in the past. Our biggest issue at the moment is that we have 40 kids

enrolled and only 30 kids can be in the cafeteria at one time. The other 10 kids will have

to do program in one of the classrooms.

I think this coming week will be a very stressful one. None of us really know what

we are doing and we are transitioning to having a much larger group of kids. They also

finally hired a site coordinator for our program so me and my coworker will no longer be

doing work that we weren’t hired to do. I am very happy about this and hope that she is

able to start as soon as possible. My coworker has been a lot more stressed than me so

I know she will be very thankful as well.
