2. An appliances center sells a washing machine at a mark up of 15% of the selling price. The cost of the
washing machine is Php 7,500 or find the:

a. Selling price

S=C+M

S= 7,500+0.15s

0.85s=7,500

0.85s/0.85=7,500/0.85

S= Php 8,823.53

b. Mark up?

M=S-C

M= 8,823.53-7,500

M= 1,323.53

3. Find the mark up rate based on cost if the pair of shoes costs Php 1,500 and the selling price is Php
1,800.

M=S-C

M= 1,800_-1,500

M= 300

300/1,500= 0.2 or 20%
