SKILLS SUMMARY EXERCISE

This exercise will help you identify experiences and skills that you have developed in reference to the
requirements of a position as listed in a job posting. It will assist you in going beyond simply listing your
skills in your work search documents and in interviews. This exercise will help you communicate to the
employer how you developed and practiced particular skills.
 Identify key words and phrases from a job posting’s position requirements
 Describe your related experiences to the requirements of the job
 Describe the skills developed from that experience
