Wipers - Line Guides
Excessive drilling line wear caused by caused by uncontrolled
whipping and vibration can lead to wire-line failure, endangering
your crew, your rig and your entire drilling investment. BJ wire-
line guides-both the roller types and the standard types
described on the following page-are designed to absorb
dangerous whiplash and traveling waves in drilling lines. This
effective dampening action prevents excessive wire-line wear,
uneven line spooling and pile-up as the line spools onto and
drum, while protecting the fast sheave of the crown block. Roller-
type wire-line guides are available in two types: the larger roller
type (Code Roliguide) and the small roller type (Code Rollette).
In both types, eight replaceable rubber rollers contact the line for
positive stability. Wire-line whiplash and waves are absorbed by
these rubber rollers and transmitted through the guide body to
the hanging assembly, where they are dissipated. This assures
a straight, steady line through which waves cannot pass. Codes
Roliguide and Rollette are designed to handle all standard Wipers - Line Guides
drilling line size through 2" diameter for Roliguide and 1-12/" for
Rollette. They are furnished with suspension lines and safety
line. Three different hanging assemblies-Codes JALE, Part No.
5-0601; JANUS, Part No. 5-0701; and BOM, Part No.5-0801-
may be used with any of the BJ wire-line guides. They are
illustrated and described on the following page.
Features:
Non-clogging, solid rubber rollers are held in steel guide body. Free-spinning, pre-lubricated and
sealed ball bearings are assembled into the rollers. Roller-type guides operate equally well with dry
or lubricated lines.
Roller subassembly may purchased as a unit . Include 1 each: 5-0002, 5-0505, 5-0004, 5-0007, and
5-0008.
