Stage 1: Desired Results

Lesson Students will be learning a new line dance, the Cadillac Ranch. Students
Overview: will use musicality, rhythm and basic dance steps to work through this
dance. Students will build up to doing the dance facing each side. Students
will finish the dance portion of the class by reviewing and showing Rocky
our swing dance.

We will review/run our Swing dance at the end of class to
ensure students do not forget it - and to show Rocky (UC)

We will be learning the Cadillac Ranch

Transition - have students spread out , 6 feet away from the


curtain, encourage students to move up - this is difficult as
they try to move back as much as possible due to not wanting
to dance.

Body:

Learning Activity 1:
Begin break down Cadillac Ranch
- Starts feet parallel
- Pigeon toe, heels out x2
- Tap to the right x 2
- Tap to the left x 2
Do these steps all together, possibly with music, depending on
how students are picking up.
- Heel Heel to the front
- Toe Toe to the back
- Front tap, Side tap, Back tap, side tap
Try this section all together from the beginning.

Hit heet from, hit heel back, scuff with same foot
(CHANGING DIRECTIONS) SIDE

Grapevine right (4counts)


Grapevine left ( 4 counts
Walk back 4
Forward twice together

PUT ALL TOGETHER now - Try all together once with


music

Ask if they have any questions, any parts they want to review.

The dance then goes through facing all directions in a square.

Split into 2 groups if confident.

Lots of encouragement from all students.

Go through our Swing Dance with music twice - to show


Rocky.

Transition - have students vote on what we would like to do


outside

Learning Activity 2:

Foursquare
- Students stand in a square, must bounce it in their
square first then hit to next square
- Students must hit into someone else's square if hit to
without bouncing
- Keeps going till someone makes an error, then they
rotate squares
- Once you get to the KING square you stay there - that
is the goal
Chalk
- Students will have the option to play with sidewalk
chalk and draw outside
Throwing the ball
- Students can throw a football in the field together
focusing on passing
We can get skip ropes out as well for jump rope

Capture the flag - can be an option**


- 2 teams
- Bean bags in hula hoops
- Each team is working towards getting bean bags from
the other team - if you get tagged you have to go back
to your side.
- Once you get in the safe zone ( right before hula hoops)
you are safe,
- Free walk back once you have beanbag
- Goal is to have all the other teams bean bags in your
hula hoops

Soccer
- 2/4 teams, bring pylons and a soccer ball
- Trying to score on opponents in pylons
- Passing to each other.

Transition - have students bring it in, all equipment back


Masks back on
Sanitize and back to the classroom.
