A simile is a way of comparing two things that have something in common.

A simile uses the word as or like.

Look at the examples:


The sky was as black as coal.
I am as happy as a bear with honey.
The wind howled like a wolf.

1-Complete the chart with your own ideas:


as wet as as poor as as blind as as white as
as strong as as free as as deaf as as easy as
as slow as as light as as dead as as bad as
as proud as as warm as as fierce as as round as

2-Try this, complete the text with the appropriate similes:


Example: Michigan is shaped like a mitten.
