Your security company has been hired by a government body to undertake a


security review in relation to SMEs.
The government would like you to write a consultancy paper about cyber
security risks. Your report should address the following:
 What common cyber security risks, threats and vulnerabilities do SMEs
face?
 Based on the risks you listed, what solutions do you propose?
Your task is to assess common security risks, threats and vulnerabilities to a
SME and implement appropriate information security protection mechanisms
by analysing requirements, plans and IT security policy.

Assignment #2: Risk Control Strategies


Assume you are the risk Management Director of Dalsan Enterprise. The
company has expanded considerable for the last ten years reaching out almost
100,000 loyal clients. The main services provided by the company include
cloud-based services like, Webhosting, Storage and Data analysis, VPN among
others. You are Assigned to come up with concreate risk control strategies
that can deter or reduce the impact of risk upon its occurrence. Below are the
specific areas to plan:
- Incident response (IR) plan
- Disaster recovery (DR) plan
- Business continuity (BC) plan
- Crises Management Plan

Assignment #3: Security Plans


Assume you are the head of Kismayo University Information Security Unit. In
the last meeting, the university Board decided to implement a comprehensive
security planning for the university. You are required to prepare security
policies that address the following areas.
 General University Security Culture
 The use of University network for personal issues
 Use of cloud-based storage services that are not self-hosted by the
University.
 Use of corporate Emails
 Using a graphics program, design several security awareness posters on the
following themes: updating antivirus, watching out for e-mail viruses,
changing and protecting passwords.
