Semi- Detailed Lesson Plan in Technology and Livelihood Education


Industrial Arts – Automotive NCI (Grade 9)
Prepared by: Roben D. Adjadan Jr.
I. Objective:

I.2 Observe cleaning solvent used as per workshop cleaning requirements

II. Subject Matter


a. Topic: Kinds, uses, and properties of cleaning solvents.
b. Materials: Power point presentation, cartolina, forms, and felt knibbed pen.
c. Reference: Crouse, R. and Anglen, M. (2010). Automotive servicing NC 1 (auto-
mechanics).pp3-5.
d. Skills: observing, cleaning
e. Values integration: Give emphasis in workshop of about cleaning requirements.
III. Procedures
A. Preliminary Activities
Prayer
The teacher and students will start to pray “Our Lord’s Prayer”
Greetings
The teacher is greeting his students “Good Morning Class” and the student will
respond to it.
Attendance
The teacher is checking the attendance if he/she is present or absent.
Classroom Rules
The teacher will recall the classroom rules.
1. Be Attentive. Listen attentively when the class is going on.
2. Be Participative. Raise your hand if you want to answer, if you need
or clarify something. Participate in all activities in the class.
3. Be Responsible. Always ask permission if you need to excuse and
state your reason why you wanted to go outside.
4. Don’ts Do not answer in chorus.
5. Don’ts Do not use mobile phones when it is not necessary.

B. Review
 The teacher will having a short review of the previous lesson through oral
questioning entitled Procedures in cleaning tools.
1. Wear protective clothing and googles.
2. Gather the tools to be cleaned in the designated area for cleaning.
3. Segregate the tools according to the kind of dirt they have.
4. Measure and pour enough amount of cleaning solvent to the washing pan.
5. Submerge the tools in a washing pan.
6. Use paint brush to remove the dirt from the tools.
7. Get the tools from the washing pan and wipe them with rags until dry.
8. Arrange the tools in designated rack or cabinet.
9. Clean and store all materials used for cleaning.

C. Motivation
 The teacher will give an activity entitled message relay. These are the
picture to be picked and relay to the group mates.

IV. Group Activity
 The class will be divided into four groups and each group will demonstrate on
the cleaning solvents that they have observed in the shop.
 The student will perform a task based on the procedures of the work sheet
given to them.
 The reporting is graded based on this criterion.
