VI. Rationale
Relative to DepEd Order No. 39 s. 2017, Operational
Guidelines on the Implementation of School Based Feeding Program and DepEd
Order No.36, s, 2019, Implementation of Milk Feeding Supplement to schools, the
schools are required to adhere food safety intended to capacitate teaching
personnel in the implementation of nutrition support programs, school health
service delivery, and provision of a healthy school environment and ensure that all
schools, learning centers and workplaces promote the suitable healthcare
promotion of the learners. In relation to this, the schools are encouraged to adhere
to Deped Order No. 13 s, 2017 – Policy and Guidelines on Healthy Food and
Beverages Choices in Schools and in DepEd Offices.
The Department of Education through the School Health and Nutrition Unit
aims to strengthen the delivery of this advocacy and services that gives
information, education and render services which will further augment the
preservation and safeguarding of the health of the learners in every school.
VII. Objectives
This activity will hopefully ensure that 100% of the school heads and SBFP
coordinators in schools shall be capacitated in this online webinar. More
specifically, it aims to:
Discuss and provide guidance in the implementation of SBFP-MF
Program Component and initial plan of distribution of Milk to schools
based on DepEd Order No. 36 s, 2019 guidelines provided by the
Central Office
Orient the SBFP school coordinators in handling and safekeeping of
Milk
