Sci-Fi and Horror Poster Conventions

The document discusses codes and conventions commonly found in science fiction and horror movie posters. For sci-fi posters, conventions include using navy blue and red colors, featuring a person or object, including release dates, using bold fonts, and sometimes including broadcaster logos. Horror posters often use direct eye contact, low-key lighting, bold text, darker colors, slogans, and feature main characters. Both genres typically use bold text and darker color schemes to draw attention, though sci-fi posters focus more on images while horror posters emphasize aesthetic that fits the genre.
