Infusion Formula Calculations Guide

The document provides steps to convert between different units of measurement for drug infusion rates. It gives instructions for converting between mL/hr, micrograms/kg/min, micrograms/min, micrograms/hr, and mg/kg/hr. For each conversion, it lists the steps which involve factors like patient weight, drug amount and concentration in the intravenous fluid, and unit conversion factors.

microg/Kg/Min to mL/h: (mL/h)
1. Rate (microg/min) = Rate (microg/kg/min) x Patient Weight (kg).
2. Rate (microg/h) = Rate (microg/min) x 60min/h.
3. Additive IV (mg/ml) = Amount of Additive (mg) ÷ Volume of IV (ml).
4. Concentration IV (microg/ml) = (mg/ml) x 1000microg/mg.
5. Rate (ml/h) = Rate (microg/h) ÷ Concentration IV (microg/ml).

mL/h to Microg/kg/mL: (microg/kg/min)

1. IV Fluid (mg/ml) = Amount of Additive (mg) ÷ Volume IV (ml).
2. Additive IV (microg/ml) = (mg/ml) x 1000microg/mg.
3. Rate (microg/kg/min) = Additive (microg/ml) ÷ Patient Weight (kg) x Rate (ml/h) ÷ 60min/h.

microg/min to mL/h: (mL/h)

1. Rate (microg/h) = Rate (microg/min) x 60min/h.
2. IV (mg/ml) = Additive (mg) ÷ Volume IV (ml).
3. IV (microg/ml) = (mg/ml) x 1000microg/mg.
4. Rate (ml/h) = Rate (microg/h) ÷ IV Additive (microg/ml).
