4.
STUDY MATERIAL
• A weekly study pack will be used as part of the teaching and learning in this module.
This material and activities will be made available on Blackboard throughout the
semester (refer to the work schedule). It is each student’s responsibility to
ensure that he/she obtains and studies all material in time.
• The prescribed textbook in this module is:
Title: Business Functions: An introduction
Edition: 3rd Edition (2019)
Editors: A van Noordwyk & E van Tonder
Publisher: Juta Publishers
ISBN: 978 1 48512 908 0 (Printed version)
978 1 48512 909 7 (E-book version)
• The textbook is available in print, e-book (or individual e-chapters) and can be
purchased from Van Schaik bookstore (only the printed version) or the Juta
Publishers website (both printed and electronic versions) or online platforms such
as Takealot, Loot, etc. Please note: You, as a student, will transact directly with
these stores – the University is not involved in or liable for these individual
transactions.
• We are using the same textbook as the previous year, so feel free to ask around on
social media for a second-hand copy of the book. Please note: You, as a student,
will transact directly with these stores – the University is not involved in or
liable for these individual transactions.
• Furthermore, the UFS library also purchased e-textbooks to enable students to
access a selected number of textbooks. However, this does not grant full access
all semester. Various restrictions apply to these e-textbooks; for instance, only a
certain number of students can access the textbooks at a time or the whole textbook
cannot be downloaded, etc. It does, however, grant students online access to
textbooks where they would have none otherwise.
