INTRODUCTION
Education is the most essential thing in one’s life. It is more than just learning from books. Acquiring
education forms strength, knowledge and character of the ICT students. Traditional way of learning is
attending school with other learners but ever since the global pandemic arise, our method began to
change. We adapt a new learning system because we must prevent virus from spreading. But this
pandemic should not hinder us from gaining knowledge. Because of this new normal including those
people that doesn’t have gadgets, and in the locations that has a weak signal, Philippines has a poor
internet connectivity that can cause interruption or can’t attend in the class. Even if it is difficult to study
by yourself , if you want to learn , you will make a way like what Thomas Jefferson said “ I find that the

As the Philippine’s Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary, Leonor Briones said that “Education

The operation of the private basic education institutions in the country and around the world was severely
affected by the COVID-19 pandemic which began in December 2019. It became a worldwide health
crisis where everyone was literally affected regardless of social status. The world stopped and economy
collapsed as all businesses shutdown operations. For instance, most countries closed the schools, colleges
and universities to contain the spread of the virus. The crisis became a dilemma not only to the health
sectors but also to the education sectors. When the Philippine government ordered closures of all
educational institutions, the disruptions were sudden since classes were still running. At the height of
the pandemic, educational institutions came out with remote learning as an alternative solution. The
immediate action and strategy aims to mitigate the closure while continuously delivering quality
education.
The current educational situation in the Philippines seems depressing. From the latest data release by the
Department of Education as of July 2020, the initial enrolment is just a little over half of the 2019’s 27.7
million students. The decline in the number of enrolees is mainly attributed to financial factors and access
to internet. While the public school system struggles for the resources in the remote learning, the private
educational institutions face bigger threats of closure. In the DepEd data, only 866,935 registered in the
ICT students do assembling and disassembling computers step by step you can’t do it by just watching
your teacher or watching some youtube tutorials because it needs to do in personal. ICT students needs a
computer because some of the computer applications can’t be done using a phone. You can’t do
disassembling unless you have a computer and the parts of the phone is different to the computer. This
new way of learning has many outcomes, it may good or bad. This paper will analyzed the different
aspects in learning of the grade 11 ICT students under the new normal setting

METHODOLOGY
In this chapter, the researchers will present the methodology of the study number of respondents, and the
sampling design. This also explains the data gathering procedure and the statistical treatment used in
analyzing and interpreting the gathered data to answer the statement of the problem.
Research Design
Quantitative type of research was used in this study. The researcher used the descriptive-survey method of
The study was conducted in (YASC) the YASC campus is situated in Barangay 171 Zone 15,
Bagumbong, Caloocan City, near the boundaries of Meycauayan, Bulacan, Valenzuela City, and Quezon
City.
Instrumentation
Total enumeration sampling was used. Self-reporting questionnaire was used to gather data on the factors
affecting academic performance among grade 11 ict students in the new normal setting at young
achievers school of caloocan, SY 2020-2021 along personal conditions, study habits, home-related
aspects, school-related aspects, and teacher-related aspects of fourth year student nurses. The instrument
is already considered valid and reliable since it was already used by Bastian (1995) and used as a
reference by Chadya (2008) with the research entitled, “Factors affecting the academic performance of
The questionnaires were distributed to the respondents after thoroughly explaining the Tabulations were
done from the answers to determine: 1) what is the level of impact of the different factors on the academic
performance of student nurses; 2) which indicator among the five (5) factors has the highest impact on the
student nurses’ performance; 3) which set of factors has the greatest effect on the Factors that Affect

Statistical Treatment
After the data gathering, the researchers tabulated, analyzed, and interpreted the data using the following
statistical method and techniques.
1. Frequency and percentage. This was used to summarize the data gathered from the survey
2. Weighted Mean. Weighted mean will be used to determine the average scaling score of the respondent's
answer.
