Getting married in Altinkum Turkey
Your civil ceremony will be carried out under the instruction of the local Registrar and will only take a
few short minutes. As this will be conducted in Turkish you are required to hire an officially registered
legal translator for your event. The Altinkum Wedding Palnner Team can organise this for you also.
Witnesses
Your witnesses should not be members of your family and will require two people.
This is not legally binding in any way but if this is something that you wish to be arranged it may be
conducted after a civil ceremony has taken place before hand. In the past some couples have chosen
to get legally married in their native countries and arrange a beautiful blessing and event here
afterwards.
Required Documentation
A full birth certificate.
A valid passport – (Full 10 Year).
A valid tourist visa to enter Turkey. This can be obtained at the port of entry into Turkey, for a fee.
If divorced, a Decree of Absolute.
If widowed a spouses death certificate, previous marriage certificate.
Written consent from your parents or guardians (if under 18 years of age).
If you have changed your name or you were adopted, proof of this needs to be presented.
British Citizens - Certificate of No Impediment
Both marrying parties must obtain a certificate of ‘No Impediment’ from their local Register Office in
their native country. This can take up to 21 days, during which time bands will be published in the
registered office.
After arriving here you will need to take your basic documents to be presented to the British Consulate
in Izmir. You will need to present these documents to the Irish Consulate in Ankara if you are from
ireland. This can be arranged for you with your travel arrangements at your request.
The ceremony and a fee will be charged to translate this into Turkish for you.
Irish Citizens - Certificate of Freedom to marry
You must complete a statutory declaration called a "Certificate de coutume". This can be obtained by
the local Irish Diplomatic or Consular Mission in Ireland prior to your arrival in Turkey. You must
complete a MP2A form and have it signed by an authorised signature.
You will need to present these documents to the Irish Consulate in Ankara. This can be arranged for
you with your travel arrangements at your request.
Please note that the relevant fees will be charged for any translations.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU CHOOSE TO MARRY AT THE ALTINKUM BEACH OR
DIDIM, AKBUK AREAS YOU MUST WRITE ‘DIDIM/AYDIN/TURKEY’ ON YOUR CERTFICATE AS
THEIR LOCATION.
WE WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANT FOR ALL YOUR PAPER WORKS IN IZMIR AND DIDIM, THIS
MUST BE DONE BEFORE YOU CAN MARRY LEGALLY IN TURKEY AND ALL FEES WILL BE
PAYED BY YOURSELF TO RELATED AUTORITIES BY YOU AND WE WILL BE THERE FOR IF
ANY HELP NEEDED.

international wedding certificates. The documentation required before your wedding is:
- Certificate from your home country (or embassy if you are already in Turkey) attesting that you are
able to get married. A marriage certificate is also accepted for this purpose.
- Personal Identification (passport and birth certificate)
- ID photos of the bride and the groom, 5 copies of each
We can organize the marriage petition, the blood tests and health reports and get all the necessary

Legal Consultation
The Legal Consultation fee covers the all steps of the bureaucratic process from the applications to
the marriage certificates. Some of these steps are translation services, legalization services,
applications to the municipality, marriage officer fee, health reports and in-city transportation (Didim is
the local municipality residing over Altinkum, Akbuk and surrounding areas). The Legal Consultation
rate is 1200 USD but we will let you know the right price details soon as we are in registery office in
Didim.
