GRADE 7 ESSENTIAL LEARNING COMPETENCIES
Remarks:
1. This new list of essential learning competencies has been made in response to the COVID crisis the nation is facing. The LCs are lifted from the ELCs of the K-12 curriculum and from the
unpacked LCs developed. If school opens this SY 2020-2021 and physical distance has to be observed, this list of essential competencies shall be followed to ensure that the critical
competencies are not missed out.
2. With the suggested number of days/weeks per quarter, the Learning competencies shall be taught using the Explicit Teaching, Communicative Language Teaching, BDA and
Differentiated Learning (Individual task). This means that NO group tasking/cooperative learning shall be done in the class to prevent learners from getting close, thus observing the
physical distance.
3. Teaching days per week have been reduced to three times a week due to the adoption of a special schedule thru the Compressed Curriculum Guide Syllabus.
4. Those LCs not included here and are pre-requisite to learning the competencies, may be taught during engagement but not necessarily making it among the target objectives.
5. The schedule for the LCs to be taught is also flexible to give some unforeseen but required activities to take place.
6. The number of LCs to be taught per meeting is also flexible in consideration of the cognitive level of learners in a class.
7. Days for testing have also been included but on a flexible schedule.
8. Since whole class discussion and individual task will be common, the teacher is all the more encouraged to utilize technology (audio-visuals, video lessons) to aid their instruction.
Work/activity sheets for individual, home tasks will be more useful this time.
