Automatic Water Distillation Plant

This document describes an automatic water distillation plant that can produce 40 liters of distilled water per hour in two 20 liter sub-units through continuous operation for 8 hours. It uses a closed cooling water circulation system with a chiller and two heat exchangers to condense steam into distilled water through a process where tap water is boiled, steam is condensed, and purified water is collected.

Water distillation Plant (Automatic model)

 Provide distilled water at the rate of 40 Liters/hour (as two sub-units of 20 Liters/hr).
 Capable of continuous operation for 8 hrs.
 Closed circuit circulation of cooling water (used for condensation of the steam) via Chiller
and two heat exchangers.

Working Principle
Distillation of water occurs in several steps .Municipal or tab water should be automatically fed
into the distilled units boiling chamber .A heating element in the boiling chamber heats the water
until it boils. The steam rises from the boiling chamber. Volatile contaminants (gases) should be
discharged through a built in vent. Minerals and salts are retained in the boiling chamber as hard
deposit or scale. The steam enters in a coiled tube (condenser), which is cooled by cool water.
Water droplets form as condensation occurs. This condensed water is collected in a storage tank.
