Lesson 1-1.2 Earth Science

The document discusses theories on the origin and structure of the Earth and universe from various religious, philosophical, and scientific perspectives over time. Early theories included religious cosmologies from Mormonism, Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism. Greek philosophers proposed models of a primordial mixture and atomism. Copernicus demonstrated Earth orbits the sun and Bruno suggested the solar system is not central. Newton described a static universe and later Einstein proposed expanding and oscillating universe models based on general relativity.

contradiction in newer observation, the
universe has no beginning or end in time
and from any point, it is expanding but

matter are moving away from each other

Lesson 1.2: The Origin of the Solar System

 Astronomy is a natural science that study of
celestial objects (such as stars, galaxies,
planets, moons, asteroids, comets and
nebulae), the physics chemistry, and
evolution of such objects, and phenomena
that originate outside the atmosphere of
Earth, including supernovae explosions,
gamma ray bursts, and cosmic microwave
background radiation.
1. Fission Theory
- Sun bursts open, and planets and moons
shot out at high speeds and went to their
respective places, then stopped, and
started orbiting the Sun, as the moons
began orbiting the planets
2. Capture Theory
- Planets and moons were flying around,
and some were captured by our Sun and
began circling
3. Accretion Theory
- A pile of space dust and rock chunks
pushed together into our planet, and
another pile pushed itself into our moon.
Then the moon got close enough and
began encircling the Earth
4. Planetary Collision Theory
- Our world collided with a small planet,
and the explosion threw off rocks which
became the moon, and then it began
orbiting us
5. Stellar Collision Theory
- Our planets, moons, and suns spun off
from the collision between stars
6. Gas Cloud Theory
- Gas clouds were captured by our Sun.
But instead of being drawn to it, they
