To Whom it May Concern,
RAZER Singapore.
I am really interested in your listing, “Mechanical Engineer (JC - 1045)” in LinkedIn. To start with,
I’m a big fan of RAZER and it'd be such a grateful and honorable experience for me to be a part
of this company, sharing my expertise in building the top notch gaming hardwares in the
market today. I really feel that the job description fits, in totality the kind of job I'm searching for.
Also, I find myself the best fit for your job description, which I believe mainly demands practical
mechanical design thinking. Allow me to justify my statement.
I am a recent graduate of mechanical engineering, and up to just before the pandemic, I was
working as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Abhiyan Engineering Nepal, one of the few
mechanical engineering R&D cum manufacturing facilities in Nepal, specializing in clay brick
machines and hydropower equipment. My job there was in the R&D department to make exten-
sive use of SolidWorks, Matlab and 3D printing to conceptualize and prototype designs. Being at
a new plant of the company, I also had the opportunity to create a manufacturing process layout
for new machines, and created an optimized manufacturing scheme for the production of new
machines, implementing certain aspects of lean manufacturing.
I am proficient in CAD design with SolidWorks. I've spent around 4 years enthusiastically and 2
years professionally using it, doing several freelance works along the way. I participated in many
inter-college CAD design competitions as a competitor as well as a judge in my college days and
also globally. Recently I won the design contest hosted collectively by SolidEdge, ASME, and
Stratasys, in GrabCAD, themed “ ASME Student Challenge: Designing for Social Impact using
Generative Design”.
In my engineering career, I got a chance to get involved with Robotics Club where I spent much
time building robotic systems to participate in ABU Robocon in different countries throughout
the Asia Pacific. During this time, I had the experience to work in close proximity with students
of different backgrounds and also with other mechanical engineers, seniors, and juniors. As I had
to work my way from design to manufacturing, the experience instilled in me practical aspects
of design thinking: like consideration of manufacturability and organized assembly.
Different manufacturing tools were available to us like Lathe machines, milling machines, CNC
laser routers, 3D printers, spot welders, etc., however other than these tools, our resources were
limited and the minuscule budget allocated for each robot compelled us to think outside the
box to figure out solutions that were optimum for us.
Working with challenging deadlines, figuring out solutions to the yearly challenge collectively,
and working out of unprecedented glitches in the robots overnight was a nerve-wracking, but
really exciting experience, and in fact it became a tremendous learning opportunity.
Currently, I’m building up my own website and a YouTube channel to showcase my portfolio, as
well as teach bits and pieces of what I’ve got to learn in my career.
I’m eagerly searching for a job that is not monotonous, but dynamic and involving new chal-
lenges to be solved every day, that involves me in the process of innovation. I’ve come to realize
through my experience that challenges turn into excitement when there’s an innovation waiting
behind its solution. I am a driven and focused individual who likes working under pressure and
strict deadlines. I’m more a curiosity driven individual who can collaborate in diverse groups
fluently, and also work independently towards my given responsibility.
I am based in Kathmandu, Nepal, and open to working remotely. I am also willing to relocate to
Singapore after the pandemic if need be. Hoping for a positive response from you.
