 ‘Which is better, public or private?’ question constantly in my house.

 Parents looking for what is the best to suit child.

 Public and private schools both have good and bad points.
 Different schools have different things/ suit different people.
 Don’t agree: Private schools get better marks.

 I think half the people associate the posh, well-behaved and rich people -
intelligent. So they believe they are smarter.
 Public schools - talented and educated program to suit students who are smarter
than the average student and get to excel faster.
 Private Schools get to pick teachers - would pick teachers who are the best at
teaching that subject and will get the students to learn faster.
 Private schools might also have more opportunities to travel to places to have
more experiences out of school and in the big wide world.

 Child may be gifted in arts, sport or academic. Parents want schools that have
the opportunities.
 Private schools have one method (way of teaching) and one view on subject.
 Good for direct learning and the method needed for tests. May not be easiest.
 Public schools have set layout and must teach in that. But have more methods
and views of subject.
 public schools more space to think freely and apply to real life situations.
 More creativity and wider view on subjects and topics.

 This type of teaching best for use in future because student will be independent.
 atmosphere effects a student. Have fun in school = wanting to go to
school/wiling to learn.
 Private schools same atmosphere as public schools.
 In classroom things different. Private schools more strict, very well behaved.
Environment slightly stressful, students trying to get everything done.
 This best for concentration and less distractions. But a lot more stressful.
 Public schools atmosphere relaxed and calm. More discussions and sharing
ideas.
 May cause more disruptions but more creativity.
 Girls and guys are more likely to get distracted by the opposite sex in high
school so parents may see this as an advantage having one-sex classrooms. But
girls are more creative so could teach and show guys.
 facilities and public school/ private school vary and very different.
 Public get government funding + extra from fund raising and rich parents.
 Private get some government money but mostly from fees.
 Private schools have nice stadiums and pools
 Public have more classrooms and access to other government facilities.

 Overall I think Public and Private schools are good for different types of students
who have different needs to look after.
 Public and Private both have different programs to suit the child’s needs like
drama programs, art, dance, singing, music, academics and sport.
 The best way to choose a school is by how much money you have, what your
child is best suited to and which is in area range.
