12th BIENNIAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MATHEMATICS EDUCATION


OF THE PHILIPPINE COUNCIL OF MATHEMATICS TEACHER EDUCATORS INC.

The Philippine Council of Mathematics Teacher Educators Inc. (MATHTED) will hold its
12th Biennial International Conference on Mathematics Education with the theme, Mathematics
Education 4.0: Issues and Innovations, from October 24 to 26, 2019 at The Legend Hotel, Puerto
Princesa, Palawan.

The conference is designed to:

1. update the participants on the issues and motivations related to Mathematics


Education 4.0, which is Mathematics Education’s response to Education 4.0;
2. equip them with technological and pedagogical skills needed to enhance their
teaching and learning through various hands-on workshops;
3. inform them about current pedagogical innovations and curricular issues, and
how these can affect their teaching and research activities;
4. help strengthen their commitment in promoting understanding, interest, and
appreciation of mathematics; and
5. serve as a venue for them to work together and share knowledge in teaching
approaches and researches that could contribute to improved education in the
country and the world.

Target participants are mathematics teachers, teacher educators, specialists, and


researchers.

Participation of public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes


policy stipulated in DepEd Order (DO) No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase
Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
