1. What are the methods of teaching Social Studies ?

Answer : Some methods of teaching Social Studies include :

Stimulation , Laboratory , Inquiry , Project , Dramatization , Question and Answer , Field

- trips , Discussion , Lecture , Problem-solving , Home assignment and constructions
methods.

2. What is the purpose of teaching Social Studies ?

Answer : The primary purpose of social studies is to help young people make informed
and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse ,
democratic society in an interdependent.

3. Why social studies should be studied in the Elementary level?

Answer : Because social studies content allow young learners to explain relationship
with other people , to institutions , and to the environment and equip them woth
knowledge and understanding of the past . Its provides them with skills for productive
problem solving and decision making as well as for assessing issues and making
thoughtful value judgements.

4. What skill do you learned in social studies ?

Answer : I learned communication and Interpersonal skill.

1. Social studies is all about people. Whether you're studying current cultures , the
history of place , or the organization of a government , it's all about people . To
understand the situation or event , you have to understand the people involved. Help
students learn to identify groups of people in terms of their shared beliefs and goals.

 What groups of people are involved ?

Answer : The groups of people involved are parents , students and educator.
 What do they believe ?
Answer : They believe that the students instead of enjoying whay they learned ,
they most focused in examination and requires how to satisfy that .
 What do they want ?
Answer : They want the students to prepare the competitive exams and to face
challenges in their adult lives.

2. One of the best systems of education in the world is India. India innovative human
resource is wealth of the world ,but how did India become an academic hub? How does
India drive it's youth to creativeness and innovativemess?

Answer : India did really unique ways , instead of using such anything and waste of time.
They use every available resources in educating students not only textbook , not only
teachers . They use every students parents to teach their child , not to help them in their
school work but to guide them to focus their attention in study.

3. India has been a leader in the social sciences particular in educating its pupils in the
elementary , in this context how do their the Philippines fare in this field ?

Answer : The Philippines not might be the best than India but , the government (DepEd)
is doing their best to sustain the resources need in Social study, may this time
Philippines is behind of India in this field , but here in Philippines Social education is fine
it keep growing and become more productive.

Answer :

Parents are expected to have a full support for their child in education .
Parents must guide their child in education.

Project and activities help the child in development and improvement of

knowledge and skills.

3. Textbooks are changed every few years because of conflicts between

political parties and their ideologies . Are textbooks reliable nowadays or
can it be a good tool for politics ?

Answer :

Textbooks are still reliable , but it depends on books contents, and if it's
about politics it can be.

4. In light of the Mother Tongue approach to education, what medium of

instruction best suited in the teaching of social sciences ? Why?

Answer :

For me the suited medium of instruction in teaching social science is its

depend on us, as soon as we are satisfied of the way we are teaching.

5. What is your concept or understanding on FREEDOM and CHOICE ?

Answer :

Freedom , from the word "free" means you can do whatever you wanted to
do.

6. How do you differ CRITICAL THINKING and MANIPULATION ? Give

examples to each.

Answer :

Critical thinking is over thinking for the self decision. Example , You critically
think on how to solve the Problem by your own. While Manipulation
deciding on what to do based on the other decisions. Example , You choose
to take Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) because your parents like
it .

7. Why is it that the teacher has very little space for creativity in our schools
for today ? Cite precedence and situation.

Answer :

For today, teacher has very little space for creativity in schools because of a
short allotted time and must teacher are busy doing paper works.

Answer : I handle stressful situations through thinking a positive way on

how to cope up or to address the Problem or stressful situations.

2. As an incoming teacher and in your perception, what is the most difficult

subject to be discussed in social studies?

Answer : The most difficult to be discussed in social studies is History . Most

of the students find it difficult because history has many names , many
dates ,many orders , many records , many invasions and many
administrative to memorize or to remember.

3. What are the basic parts of a lesson plan?

Aswer : The basic parts of Lesson plan :

4. What would be the best approach if you will discuss about the
constitution?

Answer : For me the best approach in teaching about the constitution is ,

Constructivist approach. Constructivist approach is an important learning
theory that educators use to help their students learn. We all know that
constitution is a difficult to discuss especially in teaching Elementary. So it is
best to use constructivist approach because it helps learners to construct or
to make their own knowledge to understand the concept or the topic with
the help of teachers.

5. How will you make social studies enjoyable to pupils?

Answer : History , Politics , Economic , Anthropology and Geography are
the subject in Social Studies . To make social studies enjoyable to pupils ,
teachers must prepare a hands-on activities, so the pupils enjoy during
discussion and at the same time they are learning the lesson.
