Guide in answering the TNA Questionnaire for Teachers:

I. Personal Information
- All personal information such as Name, Age, Sex, Civil Status etc.

II. Ownership and Availability of Online Training Resources


- Inventory of ownership and availability of online training resources by teachers.

III. Competency Areas

A. Technology, Operations and Concepts


o This competency domain covers competencies related to technical operations and
concept, and productivity of various ICT tools like computers and
communication devices as well as applications available online or offline.

1. Refers to Question 1 of Part III-A: The rubrics are applicable for each
device.

Rubric Description
3 (Proficient) In addition to Advanced, with in-depth
knowledge on troubleshooting and other
special features of the device.

2 (Advanced) Familiarity on the use of the device, its


functions as well as troubleshooting but
needs technical assistance.

1 (Beginner) Familiarity on the use of the device but


with limited knowledge on the functions
of its parts.

2. Refers to Question 6 of Part III-A (If you answered YES in Item 4).

o Synchronous

DepEd - This is a type of remote learning wherein the class is conducted in real
time. In a synchronous class, the teacher and students log in to a single online
platform and carry out tasks throughout the allotted time. This may be done
through videoconference, chat or messaging apps, or audio chat using an online
tool.

CHED – Referred to as Online Learning which is conducted through an internet-


based technology, modules and the like. Learning Management Systems and
learning packets are examples of the technology used in this type of learning.

o Asynchronous

DepEd - An asynchronous set up means students are provided with content and
tasks that they need to accomplish within a time frame, using an online platform
such as a learning management system (LMS). Interaction between the teacher
and students (and among students) does not take place in real time. No face-to-
face class meeting happens, even online.

CHED – Referred to as Off-line Learning wherein printed or electronic modules,


videos, audios, podcasts, webcasts, Open Educational Resources (OERs) are
available in storage devices.

o Both Synchronous and Asynchronous

DepEd - Hybrid learning class maintains a schedule of in-person class meetings


and online activities during the term.

CHED – Blended learning uses printed or electronic modules, videos, audios,


podcasts, webcasts, Open Educational Resources (OERs). Use of digital platform
or HEIs’ Learning Management System is also permissible.

B. Social, Ethical, Legal and Cybersafety
o This competency domain covers competencies related to social, ethical, legal and
cybersafety considerations.

▪ Social refers to the digital freedoms, rights, and responsibilities enjoyed


by both teachers and learners in Open Distance Learning. It highlights
the appreciation of the teacher to diverse cultures, experiences, and
approaches, in building an innovative and inclusive learning
environment for the 21st century.

▪ Ethical refers to the principles and practices of digital citizenship in the


context of Open Distance Learning. It is the understanding of the moral
and ethical foundations and issues in teaching as applied to ODL.

▪ Legal and Cybersafety refers to the role of the teacher in securing the
Privacy, Information Integrity, Security and Protection of technologies
for Open Distance Learning. It is anchored in laws and regulations
governing cyberspace such as the Data Privacy Act, the Cybercrime
Prevention Act, and the Open Distance Learning Act, among others.

C. Pedagogical

o This domain covers competencies related to the use of technology in the


following components of teaching and learning processes namely: Curriculum
Planning, Content Development and Instructional Design, Teaching Methods and
Strategies, Student Assessment and Evaluation, Teacher Support Services, and
Education Administration

Refers to Part III-C Question 1: The rubrics are applicable for each
component.

Rubric Description

3 (Proficient) In addition to 2, with in-depth


knowledge on the execution of the
component, beyond expectation and
assistance.

individual attitudes or behaviors of teachers toward ODL, as well as their
professional growth and development, and the promotion of research,
innovation and collaboration.

support area.

Rubric Description

3 (Proficient) In addition to 2, with in-depth knowledge


on the execution of the support area,
beyond expectation and assistance.

2 (Advanced) Familiarity on the use, impact as well as


the performance needed to practice the
support area in the teaching world but
needs technical assistance.

1 (Beginner) Familiarity on the use and impact of the


support area to the teaching profession.

IV. Conduct of Training
- Survey for DICT-initiated online training for Teachers
