1. Give your Insight about Loyalty and Nationalism
For me you can show the loyalty and nationalism in a way that you will not allow the name of
your country and its people to be tarnished. Many have shown it there are our hero’s and the
people who are relentlessly fighting for our rights and trying to lift our race and country I as a
young Filipino I show my loyalty and nationalism by supporting our own products and
promoting so that it may be introduced to the whole world. In global view nationalism is the
ideology certainly has been present in humanity since time immemorial. Above all, it’s a concept
that unites the people of a nation. Nationalism happens because of common factors. The people
of a nation share these common factors. These common factors are common language because
having a language that everyone can understand and this will serve as a bridge to all the citizens
of a country to unite. History having and learning from the past of a country will serve as a way
for a nation to learn to unite and work together to recover as one. Culture and traditions having a
shared culture and tradition can help a country to have an identity and this will reflect how rich a
culture is and how united a country is. Mentality having one ideology and one course of thought
is what will lead a nation to unite and succeed. Territory the defense of his territory is a way to
show the loyalty and nationalism of a citizen of a country for example Rizal wants us to be free
from the tyrannical and abusive rule of the Spanish but to be a state of America for me that is not
real the good idea because we should be Filipinos and we must fight and achieve our freedom
and remain to be Filipinos. Thus a sense of belonging would certainly come in people. It would
inevitably happen, whether you like it or not. Therefore, a feeling of unity and love would
happen among national citizens. In this way, Nationalism gives strength to the people of the
nation.
2. Share what you’ve learned in this module in four paragraphs, three sentences each paragraph.
The Filibusterism” or literally the regime of greed. This was the second novel that Rizal
wrote and dedicated for his country specifically the three martyr friars, namely: Gomez, Burgos,
and Zamora. The three priests were accused by the Spaniards on being a traitor to the
government and were sentenced to death. Also, this novel was the continuation of the Noli Mi
Tangere. But, even though Noli talks about romance and love, El Filibusterismo talks about the
politics and governmental issues in our country.
It targets the Spanish government in indirect way. This novel tell us how cruel and how
purely evil the Spaniards was.Nevertheless, it also tackles the bravery of the Filipino community.
It shows the unimagined bravery of our countrymen on fighting the greediness and cruelty of the
Spaniards.By reading this poetic novel, you can conclude that the sword is not the only one who
can cut through the steel armor but also words can shatter the pride of anyone in this world.
It cannot result in to a fatal death but the wound it can cause will gradually devour you. If
I’m a Spaniard and I’d read his novel, surely, I’ll lose my mind to anger and grudge. I am
thankful not only for Jose Rizal but also for the people who fight for freedom in a war of words
and thoughts. Even though it is not directly into war, but the effect was very unburden to the
enemy. El Filibusterismo, a novel about the word war for freedom.
I realized that his books made a great impact to us Filipino people. He made himself a
legacy because his books inspired us to be patriotic and he taught us a great lesson that we
should not let anyone or any country control us.
