The All-In-One Windows 7 Patch!
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Chew-WGA was designed to test the security resistance of various software protections built into the Windows 7 operating system, and is intended
for educational purposes only. It works by making certain changes to the system, such as to the multilingual user interface resources, and the
software protection platform – most of which is defined and stored in the registry. This utility should never be executed on an operating system
that is intended for continual use. If you want to use Windows 7 continually, you are required to purchase a license.
INSTRUCTIONS:
%windir%\System32\UserAccountControlSettings.exe
1.
Set to “Never notify” and click OK. If UAC pops up, allow the change as Administrator. Then you must restart your computer.
%windir%\System32\slmgr.vbs -xpr
2.
Write down the expiration or grace period information, perhaps on a sticky note. You can also use “winver.exe” to get this information.
3. If you have any data that you’d like to backup for safe-keeping, then this would be the best time to back it up to a safe location.
4. Run the “Chew-WGA 0.8.2.exe” application and click “Apply” to install, or “Revert” to uninstall. The process may take several minutes to complete; do
not interrupt it. When it is done, your system will restart automatically.
5. To test your individual results, change your system date to several years past the expiration or grace period date, for the sake of certainty. This can be
done from the Windows clock, DOS, or even CMOS.
6. After moving your date forward, run as normal for a while and take notice of any of the following results:
A notice about the expiration date being reached.
A text watermark on the desktop that says “For testing purposes”
A text watermark on the desktop that says “This copy of Windows is not genuine”
The desktop and taskbar automatically change to a non-existent theme featuring the notorious all-black wallpaper.
The system reboots itself without permission every 2 hours.
When running the Control Panel, WordPad, Windows Photo Viewer, Notepad, Calculator, or Paint, it brings up a dialog that reads, “To use this
feature without interruption, this computer needs to be running genuine Windows.”
DISCLAIMER:
Chew-WGA should not be used as a means to circumvent the legitimate purchase and licensing of the Windows 7 operating system software and license. Some
of the file and settings changes that this software attempts to produce may result in the loss of data, which may or may not be recoverable. It is advised that the
target operating system be removed after testing this tool. Unpredictable software behavior may occur after using Chew-WGA.
