Qualified Theft Case Against Phil Salazar

The accused, Phil Salazar, is being charged with qualified theft under the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines. On July 15, 2020 in Pasay City, Salazar allegedly stole valuable property including a Rolex watch, iPad, air fryer and perfume from his employer Mr. Miko Gruspe, causing damage over P258,000. Salazar committed grave abuse of confidence as the domestic servant of Gruspe, having free access to where the stolen property was kept. A preliminary investigation was conducted and there is reasonable belief Salazar committed the offense.

INFORMATION

The undersigned Assistant City hereby accuses PHIL SALAZAR, a resident of Brgy. 156 Sta.
Cruz Manila, of the crime of Qualified Theft as defined and penalized under the “Revised Penal Code of
the Philippines,” committed as follows:

That on or about July 15, 2020, in the City of Pasay, and within the jurisdiction of this honorable
court, the above-named accused, did then and there willfully, unlawfully and feloniously, with intent to
gain and without the knowledge and consent of the owner thereof, took, stole and carried away one Rolex
watch model WSR-120 valued at P258,302, one Apple iPad device valued at P50,000, one Air Fryer
valued at P3,000 and one Polo perfume valued at P5,000 belonging to Mr. Miko Gruspe, to the damage
and prejudice of said owner

That in the commission of the said offense, the above-named accused committed grave abuse of
confidence, he being the domestic servant of said owner at the time and as such had free access to his
place where the aforementioned property stoled were kept.
