The SYMBOL 4 beside the index number indicates a

top assembly or subassembly is not indexed on the il-
lustration but the parts are indexed that make up the
top or subassembly. An asterisk I l I beside the index tzc;;;,z

number indicates a part is not shown on the illustra- DIILLlNG(jBFIICILNC”

tion
An index number appears in dis, assembly sequence
on both the illustration and the pm arts list.
Attaching parts (AP) indent to the same level as the
item they secure and they follow direct1 y after it.
Index number 18 on the illustration is r:ircled to in-
dicate further breakdown of the mouni :ino kit. The
parts list indicates that Figure 5-2 gives the”details of
the mounting kit.
Parts indent to show their relationship to
assembly. The remote switch box (INDEX NO.
indents one space to show that it is a part of the Drill-
ino Efficiencv Indicator Svstem. The liaht bulb. 12V. I .M~na~-ca

quires four washers, two on each side. AR denotes
that parts should be selected as required. REF
(reference) denotes parts which are listed on another
illustration and parts list. NP denotes parts not pro-
curable.
8. The USE ON CODE indicates distinct configurations
of a top assembly. Eight distinct configurations (IN-
DEX NUMBERS 1 thru 8) are top assemblies in this
parts list. They are identified A thru H. A part or
subassembly used on one or more, but not all, con-
figurations receives a letter code used with the con-
figuration. The DC POWER CABLE ASSEMBLY (IN--
DEX NO. 15) is used with the -101 and -201 con-
figurations. Item 16 is used with all configurations
and requires no use-on code.

9. Figure 5-2 shows a breakdown of Item 18 of Figure

5-1. The description in Figure 5-2 refers back to
Figure 5-l.

HOW TO IDENTIFY A PART WHEN

THE PART NUMBER IS UNKNOWN.
Locate the system or top assembly (end item1 il-
lustration and the associated parts list.
Locate the required part on the detail illustration and
note the index number assigned to the part.
Use the index number to locate the required part in
the associated parts list.
If the top illustration does not identify the required
part, determine which component or subassembly
will contain the part and note the assigned index
number. If the part is shown in detail in another
illustration, the index number is circled.
I

L5. Fmd the index number in the associated parts list and
see if the Dart is shown in detail on another illustra-
tion.
6. If the part is on another illustration, find the illustra-
tion and repeat Steps 1 thru 3.

HOW TO IDENTIFY A PART WHEN

THE PART NUMBER IS KNOWN.
1. When the part number is known, refer to the
NUMERICAL INDEX section (manuals with less than
100 parts have no numerical index). PN 236072 ap-
pears on two illustrations, Figures 5-1 and 5-2.
Figure 5-2 will probably be a detailed illustration if
the part is an assembly.
2. Turn to the parts list identified with the part number
and repeat Step 3 of HOW TO FIND A PART WHEN
THE PART NUMBER IS UNKNOWN.
