*As an ECE, part of the responsibilities would be planning activities for children appropriate for
their age-group as well as activities that can support their developmental needs.
*There should be a strong and open relationships with colleagues, communities especially the
families.
*Ask assistance or guidance as much as possible because learning new things and from others is
always an opportunity for growth.

2. Think about the role of others in your professional practice. How do you seek, offer and consider
feedback from others? What have you learned from others? What do others learn from you?

I highly believe that communication is the key to have a successful team. There is no perfection
but everybody somewhat understands one another. That is very important in a team. Constant
communication is vital. Ensuring that communication is done in a positive and respectful manner
is always noted in such a way that addressing the field advisor and cooperating teachers in the
most formal way possible.

*Inclusion must always be practiced especially with the children, colleague and families.

broadening knowledge about who and ECE is.

*Try to upgrade learning. There are always news ways coming up as the years go by. What we
know now may not be applicable or not the same in the next years to come.

Standard I: Caring and Responsive Relationships


I have read Standard I: A – C on pages 8-9 of the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

Identify your strengths and any areas for growth, leadership development or professional learning

C1. Are attuned and responsive to the holistic needs of children.


-When I was a Kindergarten Teacher, I always made sure that the children are not only
learning about Science, Math or English. I made sure that they learn the values of life too. At ages
2-4, I believe children understands the value of sharing, friendship or even respect. I made sure
that my students know those values. The children were not only having cognitive development, it
was a holistic development.

C2. Engage in supportive and respectful interactions with children to ensure they feel a sense of
security and belonging.
-Even though the children are younger than us, they deserve an adult with a supportive and
respectful demeanor. Calling the children by their names show that you know them. I also
practiced talking to the children in a calm way.

- With the help of the ELECT document, I was able to have an understanding with the
development of each based on each age group. If I notice that a child needs support, immediate
supervision and support is given.

time I find something hard for me to do on my own. Asking help with others is important because
