CSE 29362 Structural Steel Design: Dr. H. C. HO Prof. K. F. CHUNG

The document discusses the design of structural steel members under combined actions such as tension members under bi-axial moments, compression members under bi-axial moments, and checking the cross-section capacity and buckling behavior of members under axial and bi-axial loading conditions. Design approaches including general and more exact methods are presented for checking cross-section capacity and buckling resistance of different member sections like I, H, and SHS under various load combinations. Equivalent uniform moment factors, effective length coefficients, and other design parameters are defined for evaluating member strength and stability.
