EDUCATION
Should sport be compulsory at school.
You see, to begin with. Modern lifestyle has made our life more easier and
convenient but at the same time has caused either and adults to become more
sedentary. Additionally, what it has been most noticeable is the change in the
way that children play and interact with each other from previous generations. I
mean students sit around at break times and they don´t get as much exercise
as they used to. So Compulsory sports lessons ensure that they are involved in
some kind of physical activity at least a few times a week.
What’s more, the skills students gain by playing sports can be very useful at
work such as leadership, teamwork, good communication and perseverance.
Therefore, they will learn what is right and wrong and the crucial value of
honesty and hard work. For instance, there are several skills which are required
to work in some companies and those can´t be learned from other subjects.
For this reason, I considered sport to be compulsory at school because not
only does it help students to be fit but it also allows them to pay more attention.
Additionally, many of them don´t follow up on a balanced diet involving vitamins,
carbohydrates and proteins. So this could be a result of health issues.
Nevertheless, there are several disadvantages to be taken into account.
Some school, for instance may impose high standards for sports and this can
be stressful and unfair for some students.
that´s why, making school sport compulsory is doesn´t mean creating great
athletes. Its about making sport accessible to, and enjoyed by all students. just
because a student is not good at sport does not mean that she or he should not
play.
Before I finish, I´d like to say that It’s up to our education system to teach all
students to play sports, in the same way we teach them the academic
curriculum. We don’t give students the option of dropping out of academic
studies simply because they are not good at it.
