Climate Change Radio Discussion

This radio script introduces issues of global warming and climate change, discussing how the world's population has more than doubled since 1969 and is projected to warm 4 degrees Celsius by 2100. It notes a 6th mass extinction will have occurred as well. The script interviews Finn about protests they've attended and their vegan lifestyle, as well as discussing Australian bushfires. It also notes ice at sea has reduced 40% in 40 years and oceans have warmed 1 degree, absorbing excess human-caused heat. The script aims to raise awareness of how youths' futures may be affected if changes are not made soon. It concludes by discussing sustainable habits with guest Elliott.

[Link] Introduction: [Milly Coleman] Global warming is real

and destroying our world and our future quickly. Since 1969
the world’s population has more than doubled and according to
research by 2100, our planet is going to become 4 degrees
Celsius warmer. And as well as this a 6th mass extinction will
have happened by then.
I have got Finn here with me to further discuss these issues
and the things she does to help our planet.

(Finn and me discussing the protests she’s been to, her being
vegan and the Aussie bush fires.)

In 40 years, the ice at sea has reduced by 40%. The oceans are
now unable to absorb the excess heat from us humans which is
causing the ocean to have heated up by one degree Celsius. We
can stop this happening before it affects us youths future too
much and becomes too late.

The next person I’m going to be speaking to is Elliott to hear

about the little things he does on his day to day life.

(Me and Elliotts discussions)
