Theta Land Corp. Gas Well Proposal

Theta Land Corp., which is linked to developer Louis DeNaples, owns property in Plains Township where a natural gas company plans to drill an exploratory well. Rice Drilling LLC, a subsidiary of Rice Energy LLC, applied for a permit to drill the well on Theta's property. This would be the third proposed gas well in Luzerne County. The well could help further develop the Marcellus Shale gas industry in the county and paint a picture of the drilling landscape, but it is unclear yet if or how much gas production it will yield.
